I took this Monday afternoon in Topsfield. The owl isn't well. It's most likely starving to death as so many other owls in Maine are this winter. It nearly flew into the side of a log truck, veered off just in time, flew in front of my vehicle and plopped down in the snow.

I have two reports for next week's MNN so far. One is a photo of two deer plowing through neck deep snow and the other is of a moose being rescued.

Lovely photo Writer!! This winter a lot of Barred Owls in southern Quebec left for the boreal forests of northern N.H. and Maine due to a disease that diminished the vole population. With our snow totals, they have had a hard time finding rodents, forcing them to hunt during the day along roadways. Many have been hit by passing vehicles and either killed or maimed.

Default Bath Maine, and Turkey in Yard

Here's a shot of Washington Street in Bath on Easter weekend.
Also, a lone turkey that was checking out what the other birds knocked out of the bird feeder.
