The cruise ship just happened to be there, and I thought the contrast with the Balance Rock was good. Maybe ten minutes or so after taking this picture, along comes a second cruise ship. I didn't bother taking a picture. There was supposed to be a third ship that day, but we left Bar Harbor shortly after the second ship was seen, and explored other parts of MDI. The weather wasn't great, but somehow it didn't matter.

My wife and I visited Vaughn Woods in Hallowell last week - our first visit in a while. Here's a picture of part of Vaughn Brook. In the background, upper right, you can see part of the wall that holds back Cascade Pond.

This is from early October of last year, at Acadia. Our anniversary's in October, and we try to get up to Acadia for a couple of days to celebrate. It was overcast (obviously), but still beautiful.
