I have seen reference to having cheeseburgers at Owls Head on here before, could someone tell me what the story is with these cheeseburgers? Thanks.

I second or third the Maine State Museum.. Some very good displays there. Yes you can tour the Capitol Building. And if you are in Augusta on Saturday Oct. 29th or November 5th. between 11 and 2 o'clock you can have coffee with Gov. LePage if you drop by with a food donation. The are collecting at the Blaine house during those hours for some of the food pantrys.

It's a little off the path, but you could check out Maine's largest general store.

General store located in Windsor, Maine - Hussey's General Store

You have to be kind of a hillbilly to appreciate it, though.

If your looking for some local food check out the A1 Diner on the bridge in Gardiner, just south of Augusta. It was featured on Diners, Drive-In and Dives on the Food Network.

LL Bean is only 30 min down the highway if a short drive is an option. Remember, you can go anytime that fits your itinery.
