Speaking of feet hitting the soil, I did just the opposite today to escape the heat - went hang gliding for the first time in my life today
It was a spontaneous thing - saw the place while we were out on a Sunday drive. Said I gotta do that - and did. Went a mile up then floated back down.......I might be hooked - do they do this up there anywhere?

I would so love to do that!! Sky diving was on my list of things to do this summer, but I couldn't due to knee surgery in January. NEXT summer though! I don't know if that's anywhere in Maine, but it would be fabulous if it were!! Sometimes the best things are completely spontaneous

I'm with ya there molly - never been interested in bungi jumping - but this hang gliding ... well it was aaaawwwwwsssooommmmeeeee - and very easy. You don't even have to really hang on cuz you're suspended in this papoose like thing. Of course this was a tandem ride - someone else was in charge and directing the hang glider - I was just there for the experience. Landing was smooth too.

El you take pics and I'll record with my camcorder. I am ok with heights to a point, but have to be more closed in than either bungie jumping or hang gliding would provide!
