My Dw is from Southern New England [Connecticut]. We had a couple homes in California for a while, as well as the Pacific North West. She was glad to get back to the East Coast.

I am wondering why you think rentals are few and far between...Here's a link with rentals and at the bottom of the page there's a link to the next 100 postings. How many rentals do you need?

maine apts/housing for rent classifieds - craigslist

Ohhh about 20?

A lot of the rentals I have found are either no pets (we have a dog), small (we have 5 kids), or seasonal from September to May.

Thanks for sending the craigslist link! We can't use CL here because it's all scams. Did I mention how much I love California? lol

Yes, we are in SoCal. There are also quite a few of short sales in our neck of the woods, but I believe "real" sales (not short sales or foreclosures) are selling pretty quickly, albeit firmly in the "haircut" price range for the original homeowner. We've been in our home for close to 14 years, and the current home values here are really sickening. Great time to buy, though!

We live in Wiscasset, ME- 'Mid-coast', between Portland and Bar Harbor. Very scenic area along the coast. Lots of housing available at decent prices right now....... Hope you like lots of snow for LONG PERIODS OF TIME, though.......

Sometimes... but not so much so this year. Lack of white ground covering is depressing me.

I saw that there were still some piles in yards along Hwy 16 when I went to Milo this afternoon, fairly close to you. NO piles in yards over here in the Corinth area, though I am crossing my fingers that the chance of snow in the forecast actually reaches us this time.

Wiscasset is where I found the first home I fell in love with. I don't know if it is still for sale, or not though. Looks like such a cute area from what I can tell through online research. It will be nice to find a rental so I can take my time searching. There are so many homes for sale and I am not partial to any place in particular except one where I can have tv and internet lol

Maybe it is the military wife in me, but I figure if I don't love it after moving there I will just move somewhere else
