OMG! I just found this forum, how cool! I grew up in Caribou, left there in 1980 and haven't been back since, but am finally coming for a visit, we'll be leaving Indiana this Saturday, the 8th of Sept., I am so excited, yet really scared because I am afraid the small town I once new has changed drastically...anyone around that graduated in 1978?

Are you going back to visit Caribou? I hear it's a WONDERFUL place - full of charm. You'll find much has changed over the years, as everywhere, but I'll bet it will still ring true for you. That's how "going home" always is. Enjoy the trip!

Thanks Elcarim! Yes, I will be "going home" for a visit, the first time since 1980...excited, yet scared! I am sure I will be sad because it will not be the same...heck, I imagine alot has changed in 27 years! I can't believe it has been that long!

Presque Isle has made some huge changes. Shoot they even put in a mall in 93, down by the river just before you cross the bridge toward Caribou (yeah, the swampy area LOL.)

So when are you heading up? We don't live very far from you and are only working half days this Friday to get a jump on the vacation. Wonder if we should carpool though, we are heading all the way to Eastport.

Actaully, we will be leaving early Saturday morning, we will be travelling in our motorhome, and William's parents will be in theirs. We'll be stopping in PA on the way up to check out Amish Country in Lancaster area, then on up to Caribou, not travelling straight through, obviously, as we have to stop every 100 miles so William can get up and walk around, he had knee surgery a few weeks ago, his Doc gave OK to travel, just frequent stops...
