It's a cool, breezy 75 this morning. I've got the doors flung open and I'm finally able to finish up outside projects. I got the flower beds cleaned out and put some fresh rock in them. It feels so good out this morning! Be glad when we can enjoy more days with such mild temps.

Default Maine Fall computer wallpaper

I just downloaded a new background for my computer from MaineFoliage.com... the one with the barn and the hill of changing trees in the background.

Looks like home to me... even the goat peeking out of the barn, wondering what's taking me so long to get there to feed and milk her! LOL

you are welcome... I saw the link on a blog and went to check it out to try to get an idea of where on the "color curve" my trip falls (unintentional pun). I am before peak which I think is a good thing.

I AM going to take some glycerine with me so that I can collect leaves and preserve them to bring home. So if you see a crazy woman with a camp stove set up in a park, making a solution of glycerine and water come to a boil and a pile of colorful leaves near by, it will be me.

skytrekker, beautiful writing!

MBM....you've been in my mother's kitchen! it was always in the fall we'd start having the roasted meats again....I love roast pork! and the smell of apple crisps and pies....

There is a special smell that we get in the air in the fall mornings...these smells immediately take me back to when I was in 1st grade, walking down the street to the old school. Our street was lined with maples and elms, so the colors and smells were striking. There was an old horse chestnut tree near the school---to this day, I love those, especially fresh out of their spiny skins
