Yes, I look daily at mainecoastnow.com for all the current happenings along that part of the coast. It has links to the major specific newspaper feeds for each area. They should have the same for any area you want to research.

The Northwoods Sporting Journal is the best for the outdoorsman.

Never heard of it. I need to let my husband ( hunter and fisherman) know. Thanks Northern Maine Land Man!

Yankee magazine is good (Yankee Magazine). AAA also publishes a magazine called Northern New England Journey. I'm not sure if you can get it without being a NNE member, but it's worth a try!

www.sportingjournal.com/

Hunting, fishing and camping in Maine with very little politics. Canoe trips, winter camping, snowshoeing, just about anything in the woods you can do.

I'm not sure I'd call a Yankee a Maine magazine, although it does try to have a story about Maine in each issue. Down East is best for a statewide view, while Bangor Metro and Portland will give you some insight into those two cities. Don't think Lewiston-Auburn have a city mag. Isn't there an Aroostook magazine, too?

Plus of course you can browse the websites of the various newspapers -- Portland Press Herald, Kennebec Journal, Waterville Sentinel, Bangor Daily News, Lewiston Sun Journal, Brunswick Times Record.

I like:

Village Soup newspaper and web - (Knox) - VillageSoup

MaineToday - MaineToday.com - It's what's happening

Yankee Magazine - I borrow copies from friends (too expensive)
