You have GOT to hear the latest in our real estate saga! (If you all get tired of my updates, someone please let me know. I don't want to bore you to tears!)

Anyway, I logged on to check out the listings today, only to find a stranger's face posted on our listing as our agent. I got right on the phone, and the owner's husband answered and informed me that our agent was "no longer with the agency". I had the choice of cancelling my contract altogether or being reassigned to the agent they'd chosen to represent us.

I spent almost 20 minutes on the line with his wife then who explained to me about Angela's "communication" short comings and lack of attention to details - like advertising!(all of which I figured out 4 weeks ago!)

She knew NOTHING about the open house that we were supposed to have scheduled for the 27th, though A told me twice that she'd discussed it with her. She knew nothing about our house being on the market for 4 weeks now with no showings - she was mortified over that one! She had never gotten the message that I wanted her to call me to go over pricing details, which she would have done already had she known we weren't getting any interest by now.

They are turning our account over to a girl in the office who is young and agressive and has 9 years of experience with their office and working knowledge of our area. She actually lives only 10 minutes away from us and has specialized in this area for 7 years now. She's had two houses on the market in our subdivision for less than 60 days now and has contracts on both of them. That was encouraging, as the average time on the market here is 6+ months. Going into the winter months, we know everything is slowing down and comps are dropping, but I'm encouraged by having someone who at least knows what in the hell she's doing handling our business now.

We're going to stick with them in light of these new events, primarily because they are the second best selling agency in our area. I don't like the owner of the BEST selling agency and chose not to use them for personal reasons, so second best will have to do for now! I believe that we just got a dud of an agent at first who had too little experience. She'll have to cut her teeth on other clients now, thank goodness!

Sounds like you need a new agency - like the one across the street.

If you mean the house across the street that's for sale - it is the same agency. See my problem?? I mentioned to her that it's been very aggravating seeing that house shown several times a week and ours not shown at all. She said she really had no idea our house was sitting inactive like this or she would have been involved already. They only learned over the last 3 days that A was getting several complaints stacked against her.

well, El I love the updates!! keep them coming!!

I'm glad that the agency has had a light-bulb moment, but keep an eye on them....not sure how A seemed to fly under the radar for so long!! Hopefully this new agent will be perfect for you!! I'm excited for you.....it means you'll be here that much sooner!!

Here's hoping! I hate that there are so many factors we have no control over, but hopefully if everyone will just do their freakin' job, the wait will be shorter!!

I am SOOO anxious to get there!

Oh dear- I fear if your home selling saga drags on too long, you will arrive in Belfast in the worst possible time( imho) - February or March

Wouldn't it be nice if you could time it for a move away from sticky hot Texas to lovely ( possibly black fly infested) Maine in June???
