We had a party here Saturday, one of the guests traveled from Charleston and ran out of gas on the WV Turnpike. He said the road looked like a scene from "The Walking Dead" as cars were abandoned everywhere and people (very hot and thirsty people) were hoofing it. He luckily got enough gas from AAA to continue on to a working station. He lives in Crosslanes WV outside of Charleston. When he left he went to Lowe's and bought a generator, 3 five gallon cans to fill with gas, and two large coolers filled with ice. I hope he wasn't robbed going back in! I leave for Maine and Maritimes on Sunday, I can't wait to get out of this heat. I would rather have 5 feet of snow outside with the wind a howling. When you walk outside here in the daytime it is like someone is hitting you in the stomach and you can't breath. My AC has not cut off in 4 days, runs constant.

Been over 100 for 4 days! I can't wait to get back up north either...

My sentiments exactly!

It's pretty steamy right here in little ol' Rhody, considering it's the "Ocean State" and all - just as humid and hot as some of the southern states, what with all the pavement! Whoooof!

RI is, according to a recent scientific report, the fasted warming state in the Union, followed by Mass., Conn, NC, WV, etc.

Thanks so much! We are very excited to be on the move. We will be in the high 90's today.........at least that's better than 105!

My husband is in Portland right now and loving the weather, he says he doesn't miss Charlotte at all.

Have I mentioned how jealous I am?............... We'll be up there just as fast as we can!
