Please forgive me for not wanting to "Search."
I have a dying computer, and a bad keyboard.
Some of you may remember me - i live in NJ, trying desperately to relocate to your great state.
I'm an 'early retiree.' Going up next month to look at some houses that are for sale; I have a Buyer's Agent for 3 of the counties.
My question IS: would you live near (2 miles) from the Dragon Cement Plant in Thomaston? Just curious. I've researched it a bit.

It wouldnt bother me,,,,but then again,,,I may do some drive bys, on a nearby neighborhood and ask any adults you see outside ( or in the dooryard) and ask them

As far as coastal/waterfront property prices go, the less expensive they become the further north you go. southern ME and mid-coast tend to be pricey....hope you have investment bucks.

That's why i only have 6 houses to see in that area - i'm keeping below $170K.
I should also add that i'm trying to sell my house in NJ for $165K - when 3 or 4 years ago the CMA was about $215,000. It's ugly down here trying to sell a house

When you say "coastal", are you talking about being near the coast, or with full fledged waterfront? Remember that you may be able to buy waterfront, but you might be blown away by the specialized taxes which are often as much as 4 times what they would be if they didn't have edge of property on water.

I'm checking the tax listed on each property as i look at the houses online. I'm guessing that there is no extra tax besides that?
