sailing (Blue Hill, Jonesport: club, cottages, area) - Maine (ME) - City-Data Forum

since no one has replied to my question about a yacht club in the Jonesport area I was wondering if there are any sailors out there and how is it up there.
It looks like the cruising would be wonderful.
Have cruised for many years but never made it Downeast as time was always a factor.
But now O am as free as a bird!!!

Yacht Club is Jonesport? I think you have Maine confused with Florida. Maine has relatively few "yacht clubs". There are some, of course, but Jonesport is pretty far down east, so in the summer you will see a smattering of boats of all types moored in front of cottages and in the small harbors that dot the coast. I am not positive, but I believe that the nearest "yacht club" to Jonesport is Blue Hill, which is about 50 miles down the coast in a straight line.
