We've tried two and have been extremely disappointed both times. At the first, the tellers were unfriendly, rude, and treated everyone like a waste of their time. At the other, one of the tellers was downright hostile. Not sure what it is that makes employees at these places so unhappy.

Anyone know of a good credit union in Maine that offers good services with friendly, competent employees?

Lincoln Maine Federal Credit Union is excellent and has good customer service. Their interest rates on savings are double what banks offer. I have used them for 30 years.

Their credit cards and debit cards will work in nearly every ATM in Maine.

We use the University of Maine Credit Union and have been more than happy. One drawback may be that they only have 2 locations - Union Street Bangor and Orono. If you do business on line that would not be a problem.
