Dang it, Travel and Leisure put Lubec on their list of best small beach towns.

I came for the lack of crowds.

Don't worry. Travelers will tire of the ride halfway there and will turn around for Southern Maine.

ADSLubec, I had the pleasure of visiting Lubec for the second time last summer.

I arrived via water taxi from Eastport- spectacular views and a great experience.

Lubec and Eastport are true gems- thank goodness most people don't want to sit on thir fannies or the 5+ hour drive. I doubt the hoards will descend on you

I don't think you will have a huge influx of tourists. I agree with the above posters.

Some businesses 'thrive' on tourism. They might like the attention.

Though I doubt you will see huge crowds.

Yep, most people think our northernmost border before the world ends is Bar Harbor. Then they think they need a passport.

Wait. Lubec has a beach?

Don't worry. Once they see how far they have to drive to get there, most tourists will stop in Bar Harbor. And those that make it will soon spread the word about the lack of sand.

Tell that to my dog who contunually brings the sand in to the house.

Shhhhhh! We're trying to keep the beach lovers away, remember?

Maybe that's why there is none at the beach.
