Not really sure I am following you.... you are saying 80 degrees for a high is typical day time temp for october 11? Did you mean August 11?
80 degrees was off the wall. It was supposed to be 67 and then this blow from the south came up. Other than the fluke day, its been uniformly colder compared to historical averages for this time of year. Its probably related to the fact that the Arctic has frozen up almost three weeks early and stranded a huge number of ships up there who thought they could make a passage.
Farmers Almanac says we better have a warm parka for this winter. And I'm happy that I have 5 cords of wood on hand.
Scattered frost predicted for the Downeast coast tonight. Intellicast is predicting 34 degrees F where I live. Time to cover the house plants or bring them in for the night, and the cat too.
This was a hard frost. Wipers would not take it off the windshield. It took RainEx washer fluid. At 7:24 AM the west roof on the garage is still frozen. No drips. The east side of the garage is steaming in the direct sun. Just a beautiful summer day in Maine. The calendar says it is still summer. Blue sky and sunshine.
Wow. Any chance you've got photos of that NMLM? Sounds gorgeous!!! I'm so jealous. It's still in the upper seventies / low eighties here during the day and humid. I hate heat!
