Any thoughts on the Lovell Fryeburg area as a possible year-round residence? It seems to be beautiful in the summer, but what is the economy like year round? Is there much in the way of cultural amenities?

Thanks!

Economy is like the rest of southern maine, in a small town[must be resourseful],...N.H border is next to fryburg which makes conway area a nice place to work and play ,with an upscale feel about the town, many outlet shops and places to eat, with sking being a large draw.Fryburg/lovell is beautiful area, mostly farm land and tree farms ,summer camps and lakes etc....culture consists of the fryburg fair, antique auto show[at the fair grounds]and steven king, when he is in town.[he likes to be left alone]...Actualy within an hours drive you can find what ever you need ..no problem.Hope that helps

I performed a wedding at a lakeside resort in Lovell; it was a beautiful setting with Mt Washington in view across the lake. In town there is a little diner called "The Wicked Good Store" the food was good and plentiful, the atmosphere fun and I still have the T Shirt I bought there some 7 years later. That was summertime and I was only there for two or three days so I have nothing to offer except a pleasant memory. On my way home I bought a kayak I had so enjoyed my time on the lake. As Bob Hope sang, Thanks for the memories. ( I would imagine it is "wicked" quiet there in the winter.)

Never lived over there, but that is how we would drive to N. Conway for our weekend get-aways. It's a beautiful area, and as previously stated, a very easy commute to Conway for employment opportunities. Not sure what the job market in Conway is like right now though, but if you are very resourceful, you could probably do well.
