We are still heading for an ice age.
Hmmm, the sun, well if National Geographic realizes that global warming could be related to the sun, then maybe....

Portland area is going to get some light snow Thursday and if we get any kind of accumulation it's going to really drop the overnight lows which are already forecast to be nearing the single numbers in Portland. The daytime highs for the next ten days are predicted to be in the low 20s for the next 10 days and he said it's only going to get worse from there.

He said that once the oil companies figure out this forecast the oil prices are going to be going through the roof even worse than they are now. So much for global warming. The reason for the frigid weather is the lack of hurricanes this year didn't warm up the ocean waters so the waters are colder than normal and therefor we can expect a bone chilling cold winter.

Maybe we can get Al Gore to come up here and open his mouth so the hot air from him will at least cause local warming lol! Otherwise the best option is a 3 month trip to Florida.
we're up at cross lake from orlando so we hope for cold and snow we love both places

The thing is about global warming is people don't know what the term means. So many see that term as "POLLUTION AND CARS!". Thats a factor in it but its not the definition. The definition is ala Websters is...

Quote:
global warming
–noun
an increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect.
Its more the event and not the cause. The earth does go in cycles as far as climate. There is clear evidence of that. It is caused natrually by all things that emit waste. Hell, even trees release a small level of methane which is a green house gas. Now whether or not we are at the tipping point I am not sure. I have not seen Gore's movie (nor do I want to) but I do feel we need to clean up our act to make sure we do not accelerate the process. Not to mention I think we like the idea of cleaner fuels and waste and ect...

Any weather forecast more than 5 days ahead is a total crapshoot and anyone who pays any attention to them must have alot of free time on their hands.

Here's my winter forecast...partly cloudy with a chance of rain or snow.

Gore's 'carbon offsets' paid to firm he owns
Critics say justification for energy-rich lifestyle serves as way for former VP to profit

Al Gore defends his extraordinary personal energy usage by telling critics he maintains a "carbon neutral" lifestyle by buying "carbon offsets," but the company that receives his payments turns out to be partly owned and chaired by the former vice president himself.

Gore has built a "green money-making machine capable of eventually generating billions of dollars for investors, including himself, but he set it up so that the average Joe can't afford to play on Gore's terms," writes blogger Dan Riehl.
