Does anybody know how loud the trains are when they're going through Bath, and how frequent they are?

(We're moving to Maine, and looking at places in Bath, but if I'm going to be hearing steel wheels on steel rails going clinkety-clank at all hours of the day I'm thinking maybe that's going to be a big negative, and the dog won't like it neither)

The busiest time of year for the train in Bath is the summer, when the tourists are here. It passes through town two or three times a day during daylight hours. I don't know anyone who has complained about the noise, even folks who live along the tracks. An engine and a few cars may very rarely go through town after dark. BTW, the tracks don't run through the entire city, just part of the north side. If you really worried about it, just look at homes away from the track.

Two or three times a day isn't too bad, I guess.

Thanks!

i was in bath today ,,,nice town!!
i dont think they run down the tracks like they use to...

part of my childhood, was beside the kennebec river and trains would travel adjacent to the river,,,our house would rumble a bit,,,but we actually liked it,,,,found the sound very soothing for some reason

those trains dont travel like they use to..
