It seems like there have been a lot of accidents in the paper lately, and about 90% of them are because of people crossing the center line. I've always known to watch for crazy drivers, but this is becoming epidemic!

I see a lot of people drifting toward the center, and then pull it back over at the last second. What gives?! I get it, we have potholes, but hitting a pothole isn't as bad as hitting another car!

too many distractions- 70% of drivers are on the phone or texting, or
looking stuff up on youtube, google, etc.

people use phones for work while driving and write info down

I see it everyday, it is scary

Today we were following a SUV that drifted across the center-line a few times, it drifted off the pavement and onto the shoulder a few times too.

He / she was having a very hard time keeping it in our lane.

No idea what the issue was, we assumed it was likely some electronic device.

Moving to central ME soon and the same problem is happening big here in SE NH where I'm from... problems seem to be particularly of note on otherwise easy straight roads 2 lane roads... I think people are getting lulled into a false sense of security in the road being straight and getting on their phones. Lots of accidents here on roads where crossing the center is the likely cause aside from something catastrophic and rare. These are the worst kinds to as they are generally head-ons.

Followed one of these the other day. damned kid's been drinking I thought to myself. When I finally pulled up beside him at a stop light he was texting like a madman! And he was an old guy my age! 'bout time for a ban on ALL cell phone usage while driving me thinks!

my new car has blue tooth so if you call me, I'm the crazy one that's driving and yelling into the speaker that's above my interior lights. I know I am driving safe, but..I must look like a peach cake.

Seen it too many times to count. Saw a girl/young woman the other day on I-295 driving 15-20 mph over the new speed limit, weaving from side to side, and texting with her thumbs while steering with her wrists. I laid on the horn has she passed me, and she paused only long enough to flip me off before continuing.

Wow.... it's really sad. Texting is scary. I know many people in the area who have gone off the road. I know it happens so when I drive and look at there eyes too. Just to see if they are paying attention.

I had a friend in a recent accident where it said he fell asleep. Turned out he had a seizure, and that's why he crossed the center line. Very serious for him, life air lifted to Bangor. Not too bad for the other driver thank goodness.
