I never had Navy food, but I thought the Army chow was pretty damn good. And if we didn't want whatever choices were being served in our own mess hall, we could always go to the "Specialty House", which was a mess hall that was open to anyone on base. They served a lot of different things, many choices "international" type specialties (hence the name).
