At least the 2+ inches of rain melted all the snow off the roofs downeast. This is good rather than having it form a very heavy icy mass on the roof before the next snow storm. Now its back to the 20’s. Next snow/rain event is scheduled for Wednesday when my wife has to drive me to Bangor so the orals surgeon can drill two holes in the bones of my jaw and put in pins. Of course, no matter how nervous she might be I will be happy on Valium for the procedure. It will probably turn into a rain event....AGAIN.

It seems as though we have only had Mud Season, and no real Winter so far, here in Mid-Coast Land. We've only had to snow-blow 2.5 times so far.
With the exception of a week ago and the 10" snow/ice storm that came through, it's really only been a 1" here, and 1/2" there, type of winter; with much more bare earth than snow in-between.

I'm tempted to take a run up to the County, and remind myself what the Real McCoy winter looks like!

I love winter. I am sick of these storms of just a few inches of snow then it turns to rain though. We moved farther inland last year and I thought we were mostly past this.

We may set the record for snowiest month. Within 7 inches of it, but I will be surprised if we get more than 5 inches tonight/tomorrow.

When they said " rain" in the last storm- we laughed.. How could it be rain in single digit temps..

What the heck was that ? Thank God for rock salt...
