Maine Writer,

This song comes to mind, You Will Never Walk Alone...

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark

Walk on Through the wind
Walk onThrough the rain
Though your dreams be
tossed and blown
Walk on With hope
Hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone

Our BEST FRIEND looked like a cat, walked liked a cat, had the personality of a cat but sat to beg and minded like a dog. He was a ginger tabby and his name was Georgio. He was given to me at six weeks old but not completely weened. He bonded first with my DH who fed him kitty formula from a syringe until he would drink from a bowl. He became the most lovable, sweetest, social cat and admired by everyone esp. the veternarian and office staff.

Our FRIEND died today at 7 years old from toxic kidney disease. The house is empty without him and DH and I mourn his passing.
We love you Georgio.
I'm sorry to hear this. Sounds to me like you gave him 7 years of being spoiled that he wouldn't have had otherwise.

Maine Writer, our thoughts are with you. It seems like you will take some of the emotional burden from the family by your kind rememberances.

Thanks. I called the family this morning and talked with one of his daughters. My plan was to wait until six or seven people tell their stories then step up for my turn. They're plan is for me to go first. That's ok. I know what I'm going to say. And talking with his daughter this morning was a big help.

The Bangor News said everyone got out okay for which we are thankful.

DH and I hope Irving rebuilds for the employees and the convenience/gas for Eastport. We think it was the only one in Eastport and would have to drive to the 190/Rt1 intersection in Perry for gas and convenience after the IGA closes in the evening. Correct me if I am wrong!!

You are so right. I have so much to say that I will journal and make the summer in Eastport my haven/place to write.

Years ago, as a single parent, I wrote a children's story entitled "Hey Day Hay Ride" that was accepted by the New England Institute of Children's Literature for admission to the program. My DH encourages me to get back to writing.

I have Georgio's picture as my screen saver on my laptop.

There's still the Mobil station on County Road just a few blocks from the Irving, but there's no convenience store connected to it. I have heard that the General Store across from the PO, that was closed for the winter has reopened and the IGA is opening earlier but I don't know if they are staying open later. I sure hope they rebuild also but again, my understanding is that the Irving people haven't decided yet what they want to do. If they don't rebuild, I sure hope another convenience store does.
