I'm curious if anyone actually ever "wins" at an auction. Maybe people actually do get great deals in less demanded housing outside of cities, but it has never been the case in California as far as I know. This house is a great deal if someone manages to get it for about $70,000 or less in my opinion.
Interesting...but who would want to heat that big a house in Maine winters....
Hard to say. There are so many different factors when it comes to heating a home in Maine. The level of insulation, the heating system design, the heating fuel used.
My 2400 sq ft home costs about $1,000 to heat each winter. With future mods we hope to bring that down to around $750/winter.
But then I hear tales of people spending $2,000 or more for their heat.
On the other hand, I have owned homes that required cooling. That also cost some money.
