Tomorrow starts deer season for hunting. Hubby already went to bed ( early) to be ready for tomorrow. We live in Princeton called the "Sportsmans Paradise. " .. yup.. I would believe it.
Last year at this time, we had already had snow even a Nor' Easter on this day. Made the days of hunting to follow for the month rather dicey to travel.

I am hoping others will share their hunting stories, pictures etc.

Please note- I am asking for this not to be a debate on hunting but Rather A Place for those of us that do hunt- to be able to share this years hunt.

Would love photos or descriptions etc
If you got a Moose permit- Wonderful ! How many years did it take you to get drawn in the lottery ?

Antlerless deer permit- same thing?

Any trappers ? If so what?

Deer hunting- How was your hunt?

etc etc etc ...

I jumped a buck this morning. I saw him twice and Steve saw him once, but we couldn't catch up to him. I hoped to get this done when deer opened a month ago but barely picked up my bow. I've been out to pick up my turkey decoys and clear some brush that blocked a stand I'll be using next week. Back at it in a couple of hours. I'm going to sit on a ridge and watch the sunset.

A plastic turkey is the best I can do for pics so far today.

Squirrel at 50 yards with a suppressed 17HMR. Got my permit just a few days after the new suppressor law went into effect.

Come on over to my house and and instead of 1 squirrel at 50 yards, you could have 50 squirrels in one yard.
I had three of them gnawing on my sons Jack-o-lantern yesterday afternoon right on my front porch.

seriously, nice shot at 50 yards.

I finally had the opportunity to actually eat some squirrel at my buddy's place in NH. It was surprisingly good! There are plenty of recipes out there for them. We cooked our locally harvested bounty via fricassee. Small bones, like rabbit, but very eatable. Good to know!

Nine pointer East of the Penobscot on Saturday. NOW what am I supposed to do after waiting all year for deer season? Buddy got a spiker early. Relegated to birdshot while hunting around the son & his buddies. Dammit. This has always been how I lose 10 to 15 pounds before winter.
