I love going to the store in my jammies, and not being the only one.
I love that Maine-Iacs are casual friendly but don't pry.
I love the fact there is no HOA telling people they can't have a clothes line.
I love the trees and waterways.
I love that I can easily find a farm that has fresh produce (in season).
I love the "Maine dry humor".

Some of the things I love about Maine are

- the proximity to the Ocean
- the irregular terrain
- the open sky at night
- the fresh food at the market(s)
- the friendly, down-to-earth folks

(Never tried the jammies)

I love the saying, "You can't get they-ah from hee-ah!". My Wife and I spent our honeymoon in Bar Harbor and have many fond memories of it.

Watching the stars wink on and off as they rise through the branches.
Seeing the moon at 2 PM.
Fiddleheads and trout with biscuits.
Volunteer firemen, bless em all.
Back roadin'.
Deer season.
Going on a 70 mile trip and never seeing a No Trespassing sign.
Building what you want.
Pileated woodpeckers, known in Maine as The 'cork' of the Woods. (censor won't let me spell it correctly.)
Antique tractor shows.

I'm just back in after blowing 4 inches of saturated slush out of my driveway. I even like that.

Did you ever wonder why there are no antique and classic helicopter fly-ins?

Maine is my home. Always has been, always will be.
My entire family is there.
Casco Bay lobsterman rock!
Penobsot Bay lobsterman rock too!
Lobsterboat races up and down the coast.
Swimming in ocean temps of 58 degrees doesn't bother me a bit.
The most clear night sky allows us to see more stars than most people.
Lakes, rivers, streams, mountains.
Farms, fields filled with cows.
The smell of fresh cut hay.
Road side veggie stands.
Apple picking.

Did I mention my entire family is there.... Crap! I'm homesick again.
