I searched the Forum and couldnt find this question - I'm sorry if it's been asked before.

I have several houses "Saved" that are in Robbinston. I've been told it may smell like 'paper plant' there. Any feelings on this? Does it depend on which way the wind is blowing? Are there certain towns that really stink in that area?

I'm in NJ and will not be going up to visit until the Fall. Thanks.

I haven't noticed the smell in Robbinston, but sometimes in Charlotte, in the early morning, when it is still, I can smell the Bailyville mill. It doesn't last long.

I know what that "paper plant" smell is. I've never experienced it in Robbinston.

Some areas may smell funny at low tide, tides in the area are much higher than the rest of the continental US.

In fact, this is the first full day of summer when we are tilted the closest to the sun that we will ever be. The tides are highest also because we happen to have a nearly full moon. Highest tides correspond with lowest tides and tomorrow morning will be about as low as it gets. The bottom will be as exposed as it gets and the smell will be as prominent as it gets. Probably a good time to visit.

Thanks for the tide-smell info. I grew up at the NJ shore on the back bay, and our low tide smelled. We loved it. (it was muddy there) I dont mind a shore smell at all.
