Just finishing my radiation treatments the end of this week. Will start Chemotherapy the beginning of August for 6 to 12 months. From what I have been told I might become so weak that climbing up the very steep stairs in my current apartment will become extremely difficult and was advised by my medical team to find a 1st floor apartment.

Since my only family lives in Connecticut I would like to live in the southern 1/3 of the state of Maine. It makes traveling back and forth for them easier. I can not move to Connecticut for reasons I choose not to get into at this time. My income limits the rent I can pay to $750 (all inclusive).

I have one well behaved cat that I do not want to give up. She is my major emotional support.

I have a wonderful rental history staying in each place at least 6 years and always pay on time. I am quiet (Need a great deal of sleep) and prefer to live in an apartment in a home vs an apartment complex which many times get noisy and are more likely to have bugs and drugs.

If you know of a potential rental please contact me at Knowles.amy@gmail.com.

Thank you.

I would contact the state housing authorities in the areas you could live in. They should be able to connect you with income based housing.

It's going to be real tough I hate to tell you. The Southern region of Maine has Boston area apartment pricing with terrible availability a lot of the time. In Maine you don't really find many apartment buildings as you do "houses converted into a few apartments." Those can be sometimes tricky to navigate especially in the winter if you have to climb a deck or what have you; provided your landlord has even see fit to plow and salt your walkway.
