I'm thinking a DQ Blizzard may be in the plans the next time I go into Old Town.

I do so love the Heath Bar Blizzard - my local Dairy Queen closed and now I'm pouting.

I scooped Gifford's for years, and remarkably- still love it! (The love of ice cream tends to fade a little when you have to wash it off your arms every night after work!).

Do people outside of Maine eat Grape-Nut ice cream? I always get weird comments when I say it's my favorite....
Ohmigosh. No, I don't think people from away know about grape-nut ice cream or grape-nut pudding. On my all-too-rare trips back home I always search for one of those. My sister returned home to Waterville after living in the Boston area for decades. She bought a house just up the street from Gifford's (used to be Smiley's when we were kids). So temptation is just minutes away for her.

Ok, I know this is a Maine forum...BUT...if any of you ever get to the Cape, try hitting up a little place in Osterville called "Four Seas" ice cream...OMG their fudge is out of this world.

I need to find a place near me for my fix. I don't understand people who don't care for ice cream...they baffle me!
the best and biggest home made ice cream I have found is the big dipper in
Lisbon falls. It's a few miles from my place but I go there every chance I get.
I luv their chocolate almond. I get a large cone half chocolate almond on bottom with french vanilla on top.
they have about 25-50 flavors all home made. and they live up to their name big -dipper. and you better skip lunch if you order a large sundae or banana boat.
oops sorry talked my self into a trip to the grocery store for a half gallon of
moose tracks.
their goes my diet!
