The flow through the Grand Lake Stream dam is at it's all time high, not for this date - EVER in the 88 years since records have been kept. It is still rising.

The Narraguagus River is also at its all time high, the previous record set in 1972, and the "Guagus" is still rising fast. This is very dangerous.

Check your local stream flow here: https://waterdata.usgs.gov/me/nwis/rt

The St Croix at Vanceboro is within 90 CFS of its all time high which was set in 1958. At Woodland, The St Croix is rising fast and should exceed it's all time high today. The old record was in 1971. The current owners of the Woodland mill should have drawn the lakes down in anticipation of spring runoff. The old timers knew there was going to be high water.

They did. It's been well managed all spring. I saw deadheads Thursday, Friday and Saturday I didn't know are there. The water was very low yesterday when I was there three times. For future reference, it's not the owners of the mill who manage water flow.

As of yesterday the flow at Vanceboro was at its all time high and is running at five times the average flow for May 7.

Congrats on 10 years on the Maine forum Maine Writer. I just noticed that on your tag line.

Wow. Ten years. Time flies! Thanks. I hadn't noticed it.

GLS is still 1660 to 1670 today. Woodland Pulp keeps fly fishermen in mind when they control the water flow but at times like this there's nothing to be done to make for good fishing. I have a new fly rod I'm eager to try out but the water's going to have to drop to 600 or 700 before I'm wading in. It's not raining over this way today but there's plenty more coming.
