"We have a long driveway, and it is plowed by someone we pay for the whole season."
This is the time of year when I begin to get calls from people who plow driveways and have no place left to push it. Then the snowblower is king. The problem is that those dense snowbanks they want moved have rocks in them.
We'd also be towing a trailer to and from...ABQ to Maine. I know how the roads are in that area. Any good RV parks or storage in the vicinity? Thanks!
There are lots of RV parks for the tourist season in Hancock County and other places as well; they are a bit pricey imo, you might want to park it in Amherst, or on your property in Franklin
I second the Subaru Forester. I have a 2007 that just never quits, no matter the weather, and we have a long driveway and have not even put snow tires on it. I suggest that, to get better answers to your questions, tell us a bit more about the property. Is the driveway long, requiring serious plowing? Is it short, such that you might do it yourself? Will the cars be kept in a garage? All these things REALLY matter when it gets snowy. If you pay someone to plow your driveway, and the cars are outside, they will inevitably pile up snow around the cars and you will end up shoveling that. How close is your house to the driveway? You will be shoveling out to the drive from your house, and the distance is crucial. We have a long driveway, and it is plowed by someone we pay for the whole season. He does a good job but, still, we shovel lots and lots of snow ourselves to get out to the cars and to liberate them from the snow dunes that surround them.
When my snowplow guy shows up, I jump in my vehicle and move it, sometimes even take a ride. ... no snow dunes... I don't shovel out my vehicle. The only shoveling I do is a very small amount cleaning off the door step.
"lol... not according to Noyes, Hall, and Allen insurance clients. Where did you get your stats?"
Maine DMV. I didn't say the most popular brand or the most new car sales last year. The most popular model car on the road in Maine is the Subaru Forester. They last forever People keep them. They are seldom found in Uncle Henry's and such because most Forester owners have lists of people who would like to buy it when they buy another Forester. There are some really old Foresters on Maine roads. Some have over 400,000 miles on them and they are beginning to burn a little oil. Just keep feeding it gas, washer fluid, tires and brakes. It's like the Timex watch commercial. "It takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin".

We will, most likely, park it at their farm in Amherst. Hub is resisting. I keep telling him that you're not going to get it onto the Franklin property. Ain't no way unless you can bend an Airstream in half.
