That's sad. I saw that Google didn't do that road.

I think the posted speed limit on 191 up near Meddybemps is 50 MPH. We don't drive down to East Machias that way. We normally use 191 from Meddybemps to Cooper, or occasionally from Meddybemps to Baring. There is so little traffic that the speed you drive is basically whatever feels safe.

The house is on 191 going from East Machais to Cutler. It's the south side of route 1. If it's close to the school, Washington Academy, the limit may be 35, if farther away, probably 45.

There is a big curve past the house, so NO - it's not a great view for backing out. Also, like i said, i'm thinking of frozen snow mounds from plows during the Winter.

Thanks!
Our first winter here was the 2014-2015 winter... That winter was record breaking in all directions for snow fall and temperatures. We got 187" of snow that year. One after another...
MDOT would come through with a big blade once in awhile to knock down the piles at the roads/driveways. They did a good job !
Again though- while the speed limit is 55 mph out of town, in town where we are, the speed limit is 25mph.. The only thing I have seen to break the speed limit are the logging trucks sometimes.. And even that is short lived with " Mr/Mrs. State Trooper" hanging around....

Had some emergency family health problems.

Probably will lower the price on my house at the end of the month if it hasnt had any more offers, so i'll see then. It's still between Cutler Rd. and Little Falls Rd. - with 1 Hardy Pt. the back up! (Still havent found the speed limit on Cutler Rd.)

I lived in a house very close to 191 for a while. Close enough to feel the trucks go by. Still, it was mostly peaceful and getting out of the driveway was not an issue. "Busy" is a relative term. There are many places with constant streams of traffic that would be more dangerous. This road can certainly be dangerous, but you shouldn't have problems getting on and off the road. Regarding snow and ice removal, this can be an issue some winters. My favorite solution was a tractor with a snowblower on the front. This was quick, not hard labor like shoveling, and provided excellent control over where the snow ends up compared to plowing. Hiring a plow is a good solution, but sometimes it damages the driveway and lawn and you do end up with snow banks that are difficult to see over.
