Im sure this is a bit of a reach, but I'm trying to locate someone in Belfast. Back around 10 years ago I bought an old car--a mid-60's Volvo 1800 ( the "sports car" of Volvos in the day)--through Uncle Henry's. I didn't stay in contact after the sale. Fast forward about 10 years.....I have since restored the car and in the process of selling it to someone living overseas. The shipping co. has requested info regarding the history of the car (registration, bills of sale, etc). The only details that I can recall is that the man was probably in his 50's, lived with his mother, drove a harley and went by the nickname to many as "Whitey" (I thought of this as possibly having last name Whitman,, Whittier, Whitcomb, etc.). They lived in a fairly run-down place with a small garage and other miscellaneous "junk" items around the yard. I have no written records and don't recall exactly how I initially found his place--only that it seemed "in the country" but wasn't very far out of town.

If this all sounds familiar to anyone, any info would be SO much appreciated! Thanks!

~Terry

Maybe try Craigslist, Facebook, Twitter, or Reddit, or even a local Maine newspaper. I doubt anyone on here would know him.

The Three Stooges had a routine based on a similar situation I think.

Anyway, I would just walk in the local Belfast post office. Maybe a long time deliverer knows of him.

The town office is worth a try. He sounds memorable.

Call the Belfast Library. Librarians always know all the characters in a small town. Or maybe run the VIN through Carfax?
