No.

I figured this was a BS thread to begin with. Now I know for sure

You don't move across country to live in a homeless shelter. You can't make it 3000+ miles on $100. Frankly, the homeless shelters are strapped right now trying to make it through a very difficult winter that isn't over yet, and it would be supremely irresponsible to move into an area you know no one, with no job, and at 19 probably no marketable job skills. Hoping to live off the good will of others, is at best selfish. Presque Isle is too small to absorb someone who drifts into town with no money and no other support. In times past these were called Bums, but we have become too PC to use that term anymore. Guess I don't buy into the whole PC BS. Presque Isle can be a very warm welcoming place that is very nice place to live. Just have a job when you come so you are not a leach on the fine folks who work and struggle to make it by.

Sorry if I sound harsh, but that is the way life can be at times.

What Bydand says is right on. I know Fresno and Presque Isle (a little bit). Kind of a long way to go to get a long way away. You might try up in the northeast part of Cal. first. Up in the Sierras off 395 maybe. Or just above Redding anywhere. You'd be out of the Central Valley and could find what you are looking for there.

Understanding that this could be a BS thread, I would like to suggest that it might be possible to go cross-country on a C-note. I did TX to Boston on less than $70...but that was when a phone call was 10 cents and I had a brother to call and a place to lay my head for a while. I think there is a YMCA in PI, isn't there? Do they still put people up?

Of course, I would wait a while until it got warmer.

But he could probably sell that computer he's posting with for enough money to get a bus ticket.

Yes Presque Isle would definately be my first choice of places to go to with $100 in my pocket and no place to stay. But you better hurry because soon it will be over 30 degrees at night and that's when they close the homeless shelter for the summer season! Try Mexico it's closer. Congratulations for pinning the BS meter.
