My dear you may drink anything that you wish to drink.

If you were to visit my home, it would be my commandment: "We are to stock anything that this great lady wishes to drink"

Is that better?

Hi and welcome to the forum

I don't know what those other drinks are, but could I have a fresh squeeze lemonade instead?

Lemons?

While living in Italy we did drink a bit of Limoncello. And I was taught to make it.

Limoncello is a lemon liqueur produced in Italy, It is made from lemon rinds, alcohol, and sugar. It is bright yellow in color, sweet and lemony, but not sour since it contains no lemon juice.

Unlike many other liqueurs, limoncello is easy and inexpensive to produce, requiring only sugar, water, lemon zest, alcohol, and time to mature.

96% alcohol must be used and it should be diluted only after extraction, as 40% vodka does not extract all the oil flavors from the peel.

Grappa is sometimes used, as is refined pure alcohol. A more refined alcohol maximizes the lemon flavor, whereas darker alcohols add complexity. Higher quality sugars used in the infusion process create a sweeter liqueur.

Limoncello is traditionally served chilled as an after dinner 'digestivo'.

Limoncello is gooood!

You could yes.

Though really you can use any brand of pure grain alcohol.

Homemade alcohol works fine too.

I stopped drinking alcohol in my early 40's but started back up again in my mid 40's.

We're in our late 40's and haven't started again yet, but if we don't get out of WI soon, it may happen.
