Oh, sure, it would have "a lot" of vinegar and probably a decent amount of salt. This is in contrast to orange juice (or, if you want another example, milk) which needs to be refrigerated and goes bad before too long.

(And you still see pickle barrels in better grocery stores, and the nicer Asian groceries have buckets in the refrigerated section full of big blocks of tofu and little plastic baggies)

Am NOT a "greenie" but wife and I recycle like crazy. It greatly reduces our trash load and we pay for our own trash by-the-bag. That said, we only have to put out one bag of trash every other week. Recycling in our town is convenient. It is on a small side street off the main road right in downtown. Dumpsters are laid out in a semi-circle and all I have to do is take the bin out of my trunk and pitch. We recycle everything we can from glass to paper to plastic to metal. This spring I will probably purchase a composter because we want a garden, and start composting.

Recycling programs seem to vary pretty dramatically from town to town. My parents live in a small town about an hour from Portland and they get curbside single-stream recycling pickup twice a month. There are designated days for pickup of large appliances and other oddball items (like paint), too.

Recycling? Is that riding a bike both to and back from a place?
