HI, New here and this forum looks like it may have some real folks with real knowledge of an area. Due to circumstances beyond our control we are seeking to move away from the Mid Coast area and we are looking at properties inland and a bit north. We are retired, have no employment issues and see quite a few reasonably priced homes in that area. Is life quiet in Brownville, Milo and surrounding towns? I see alot of mention of ATV and snowmobiling, does that cut into the peace and quiet at all ( no offense to folks that enjoy those activities). We are gardeners, maybe would like a few chickens also and are extremely quiet but active and healthy, love hiking, outdoors, kayaking, very much enjoy small town life but also like to be part of a community, thanks!

Brownville is a nice town with an expensive school system. If you live in Brownville, Milo is the place you'd go to for groceries, laundry, carwash, Dunkin' and the like. Brownville has some railroad trscks, and if you live on or near Rt. 11, be prepared to listen to lumber trucks barreling down the road at all hours of the day and night.

Very few street lights at night in Brownville, but the stars and fireflies make up for it. Bring your bug spray - the "state bird" seemingly flies there all summer long!

Hardest working broker in Brownville/Milo area is Dolly Perkins. Honest as the day is long. (You can tell her I said this.)
