I am looking at homes online under Kennebunkport. However, the town of Arundel keeps showing up as well.
What’s the difference between the two towns? Prefer one over the other?

Thanks in advance!

Differences... probably taxes and salt water.

Arundel is more inland.....but very close to k'port

im guessing just being able to say a property is in Kennebunkport....that adds 50k plus to the value of any real estate

(I lived in k'port for 2 yrs)

Arundel was known as North Kennebunkport until 1957.

Kennebunkport property tax rate is $9.45 at 97% assessment and Arundel is $16.30 at 90% assessment, so there is a pretty big difference.

Kennebunkport is kind of an elite town with some extra-large and finely built homes and inns along its waterfront. It's also something of a tourist spot. Neighboring Kennebunk is a little more middle class and priced more reasonably, and is also quite nice really - it has forest, beach and salt marsh, tidal river and creeks and there's a Rachel Carson wildlife refuge on the southern side of Kennebunk. I am no expert on either of them, but based on my meager experience, for my taste and budget, I'd prefer Kennebunk over Kennebunkport.

After visiting every year for the past 20+ years, I 100% agree with Kennebunk VS. Kennebunkport scenario. Thanks!
