Nice

In our town we are seeing groups of folks starting to come together [suggested methods is to telephone/internet /skype/facetime etc]to voice concerns and brainstorm solutions.
Church's have created volunteer lists of folks willing to deliver supplys...People who are shut in for various reasons are being accounted for..A check on your neighbor reminder has been suggested..equipment,supplys etc all offered up by town folk...………………..
Just a few preemptive thoughts our town folk are pulling together.
I got this fealing that if it started in china, hit cali.Newyork and Maine...We are still 10-14 days before we see the real affect here..It may be advised to do ALL we can as Mainers as shtf... cause it may be a bit before Uncle sam comes riding in to "fix" the SITUATION.
Stay safe and calm.

Default quiet streets

Anyone else in a sizable city or town notice how little traffic there is?
Here in Lewiston there is still a few cars now and then but nowhere near normal, The Diary Joy on Sabattus street seems to be doing a brisk business though.

Its kinda nice, well except for that whole pandemic thing, and millions losing there jobs, the economy swirling round the drain.

Same everywhere. The Saudis MUST sell their oil because that is their only source of revenue. Same with the Russians. Buyers will buy oil at the lowest price. This is not a war between the Saudis and Russians. They are each trying to survive. It trickles down to Maine where I saw gas at $2.11 a gallon this week. It could go lower. Here's why:

Gasoline wholesale is 92 cents a gallon. Ethanol wholesale is $121 a gallon. Hand sanitizer companies see a shortage of ethanol. OK, America, let's put our heads together. What if we stopped putting valuable ethanol in our gasoline? The ethnol would be used for hand sanitizer and we would get better gasoline at a lower cost and get better mileage. This is not rocket science, just common sense.

The fear was that cases would double every day. For a few days, it did. But the rate seems to be slowing. The next few days will tell the tale. I am hopeful that now that we are all hunkering down, that the rate of growth will slow greatly over the next week or so.

Well, we are up to 52 cases today. The curve is definitely flattening. This is good. Hopefully it continues to flatten.

Still no cases way up here. We expect to get it, but by then, the curve will be quite flat. There will be no "mushrooming" of cases at that point.
