The invention of the first alphabet, the invention of the wheel and of course evolution ( though we still have a long ways to go)

Being with my husband is the greatest accumulation of moments in my life. But, the single most perfect moment in my life was 24 hours after my daughter (then 7 days old) had had heart surgery. This was the "we'll know if it worked for sure" moment. My life is full of miracles and moments of poignant beauty but nothing surpasses knowing your child will live when death has come so close to them.

There is a new england tomb stone epitaph that came to mind when I read your account of your daughters heart surgery. "It is a fearsome thing to love that which death can touch"
