between government and the company, this is getting tiresome living in a home that is 70% packed. Looks like it will be spring when they decide where to have the site in Calais. I can not wait to get this move going. I have subscribed to the Calias Adviser and have looked up all that I can find on Calais and Baileyville. Thank everyone for all the advice and information have so many Maine sites on Facebook and even watching the Maine news channel on my Roku.

To give an update the government stated that they had to wait for the new president to come into office, the new fiscal year to start and to update the contract. Now that is all done we were told that we need to be ready to move in 4 - 6 months. Can not wait excited.

Nice! Congratulations, and if you're moving in fall that will give you some time to settle in before winter sets in. Let us know how you make out.

Sorry to keep asking questions. Was wondering if anyone knows of a good mortgage broker in or near Calais Maine. We are thinking of getting a piece of property and then putting either a mobile or manufactured home on the property. Looking at getting between 20 and 40 acres and get a 3 to 4 bedroom home placed on the property so that the home would be one level. I was told that was cheaper than purchasing a home with land included. Also looking to see if can do both together in one loan instead of 2 different loans(one for land and one for home). Any thoughts would be helpful as looking to try to have a place before relocating so as not have to stay in a motel. Thank you again for everyone's advice and answers to questions.

I'm not in Maine but I sincerely doubt that would be cheaper. In addition to the foundation of the mobile home, you'd still need a driveway, well, septic, and electric hookup. All of these would already be there if you bought an established home.

the only way I can this maybe being cheaper is to find a hunting cabin with drive and electric already there. Still, IMHO, doubtful.
