I'm looking for new places to discover on a camping, hiking, kayaking, and exploration trip. Roads must be suitable for a subcompact car. I've already seen everything on route 1 as far as Cobscook Bay, Lubec, and the Bold Coast. Bangor is on my list, haven't seen it in decades. What are some other interesting places between Greenville and the Bold Coast? I'm looking mainly for natural beauty, your favorite campsites, interesting towns. Send private message if you don't want to post your secret campsite. THANK YOU!

Been to Gulf Hagas yet? Quite a nice hike, not far out of Greenville.

Cheap, no-frills, maintained campsites.

After seeing Gulf Hagas online (beautiful!), I'm changing "hiking" to "pleasant walks in the woods for older folks." I'll check out North Maine Woods, thanks for that suggestion.

Where is the "Bold Coast?" Is that a new regional nickname dreamed up by realtors? I've not heard it before.

Also, if I may add- the "Cobscook Trails Map" brochure (can be downloaded at link below) for the Cobscook Bay and Bold Coast Region is absolutely the best trail brochure I have ever encountered. Not only for clarity, but for what you are able to enjoy when you go to the destinations therein. Headed up there in a few weeks, can't wait.
