This is an age old question. Assuming you enjoy fried clams which do you like better crumbs or batter?

Crumbs....much better, and more clams can be consumed. One or two clams in batter is good, but it is like eating a clam flavored donut.

Yes- it depends on the consistency of the batter- if it's too thick, it IS like a donut- lol..

I like a light batter too, especially a good garlic beer batter , though I voted for crumbs. I like that they crisp up a bit and you get more in a pint!

Either way is fine with me!!
