PETA does no good work.

As a lifelong horseperson, dog owner, and hunter, I've been following their exploits closely for a decade. If you want to maintain your right to hunt, eat meat, use a seeing-eye dog, fish, or even keep some laying hens (the list is endless), PETA is gunning for you.

It's very easy to dismiss PETA as just a bunch of screwballs, but these same nutjobs have been extremely effective at getting 'feel-good' legislation passed behind the scenes all over the US that could be choking your God-given rights down day by day.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals

As far as where their money comes from, they made nearly $30 million in 2004 alone--nearly all from donations from well-meaning animal lovers who think their money's being used to shelter animals. It's not. See PETA Kills Animals | PetaKillsAnimals.com . PETA's donations are actually being used to aggressively fund grass-roots legislation in every state, all of it intended to take away your right to keep, eat, or use animals in every way imaginable: www.peta-sucks.com/thehiddenagenda.htm (broken link) .

So, the lobster thing sounds funny, but. These people are dead serious, very well funded, and obsessed...the lobsters are just the tip of the iceberg for them.

Talking PETA and guns

Hi, Tim--

That's one of the things I'm afraid of...if they had their way, I couldn't use mine...or exploit my poor fat little goats for milk and cheese, hunt birds over my dogs (God forbid), or abuse my horses by riding them. <VVBG> PETA might not affect the average urbanite, but they can sure affect anybody living rurally.

Off to let the four-legged exploited couch potatoes out before bed!

ranger good points

im seeing more and more steaks with either localized or commercial names (such as a frenched bone-in rib-eye steak called a "cowboy" steak from,,,bobby flay (cooking channel)

i think thier should be a PETA steak (people eating tasty animals)
maybe a bone in sirloin strip steak..frenched or ..maybe steakhouse PETA loin tips (from bottom sirloin flap meat, which is very tender)
or

fillet-PETA- mignon,,,,
and
PETA pork chops...
