Anyone have any insight into these communities. I am still a little confused about the incorporated towns here in Maine... the Junction is within what the map shows as Brownsville, but the local folk seem to make a big distinction.

I am looking at a place or two up that way and need to know where to poke around for info on attitudes/statutes regarding businesses in residential areas, among other things...

Anyone familiar with the area?

Brownsville is made up of three sections, Brownville, Brownville Junction, and Knight's Landing. Brownville Jct. is to the north, and Knight's Landing is on the shore of Schoodic Lake. "Brownsville Junction" sprung up around the area of the railroad depot. Here's a link that helps explain.

so is the town office for all those communities the one in Brownville, proper? I didn't see anything that looked like it could be one -- or a sign -- in the Junction.
