My son bought all of the text books he needs for his first semester of college on Ebay for $38.00 saving about $300.00!

What a great idea! I never would have thought of that. Text books are soooo expensive, great suggestion!

Ran across this ol' gal tonight out fishing. It is tied up at the commercial docks and when I took the boys over to see the Carferry leave on it's run tonight I noticed this tug.

Look at the name plate with it's home port listed. It looks like they might have bought her for scrap parts for the tugs they run already. Wondered if anybody here might remember the tug from Rockland area.

Scott that's like a message from home isn't it? seeing that tug? Hope you all are doing well out there! Are you getting the rain we are or have you had a "normal" summer?

Well, the new dog is here I'm sure most of you who are long time posters are not surprised we got her! You guys know I'm a softie. She's wonderful! We picked her up late this afternoon in Saint John, took her geocaching with us, and she's just a sweetheart. I can't imagine anyone not adoring her, we're lucky she's here. She's had a considerable amount of training, and has a wide variety of tricks. When we got home she played with the other two dogs as if she'd been here right along. Now, they're spread out on various doggie beds, sound asleep. She's bigger than I thought she'd be, taller than the lab by a few inches. I think I mentioned she's a border collie. Walking her and the Lab at the same time is going to be very interesting....neither of them "heel". I haven't figured that one out yet! We are going to need a doggie harness for her like we have for the Lab-- she pulls and then does the cough thing. I did notice that her front bottom teeth are worn, as if she'd been allowed to chew on something over the course of time that wasn't a good chew "toy". She's 4, and with the wear the way it is I'm thinking it went on for a long time. We'll have to see what the vet says when she goes in for a check. I've never had a dog who's had teeth issues! She's been trimmed, so her fur under her belly isn't long right now like you might expect, but it is on her tail. If it grows out to be that long she'll be very familiar with the brush!

Try a Halti collar if she turns out to be a puller -- they work like a charm on any size dog that wants to yank, and a lot more effective and humane than a choke collar.
