Okay Mr. Ranger, if you were president what promises would you give to the Mainer's at City Data?

*I'm hoping for ...
  • Free high speed internet,
  • Running our heating units with "love" power
  • NO Taxes
  • All the Whoopie Pies we can eat.
  • A lobster a month to every Mainer
  • We never have to pay to have our vehicles registered.
I'm with you! I don't really care about the lobster, but one a month might be ok....you got me on the Whoopie Pies, although I'd never take off the lazy winter weight I've gained then!

(it is one of the three nos I think--just a matter of time)

Heck, I'd just settle for HIGH SPEED INTERNET in more places than not in the state... More than willing to pay for it, but it AIN'T THERE.

A neighbor just had a load, and I mean a LOGGING TRUCK load of logs deliverd to his yard to cut and split for next winter. Star saw the truck out here, I thought he was lost. ANYWAY,....... I vote wood used for heating should be harvested from the state forests and supplied free to those in need (that burn wood), this coming winter. A small fee for delivery wouldn't be bad. Perhaps a financing program to install wood stoves for low income homes wouldn't be bad either?
Alas,.. the candidates for the Presidency we have to choose from don't represent my needs or opinions very well. I would like to vote "no confidence",.. unless Ranger really were in the contest.

Well, from reading the posts it appears that most.........do not care about either of these two candidates, and....... also have a hard time separating Maine's needs (or wants) vs the countries. I agree....its a tough question....

Bob Barr: I love most of the Libertarian ideals, but some of them tend to be to far out there. Which is why I always have a hard time supporting their candidates. Not to mention....and they never have a real shot.

Yeah, I only wanted really one or two of these too.
I was thinking of the "people".

I like to have free high speed internet and the Whoopie Pies.
I don't eat lobster so it really wasn't a "me me me" thing.

I don't know who to vote for. I feel terrible thinking that way, I just don't know if anyone is going to really make a difference for this country.
Such flip flopping going on, that I can't really tell who's going to help.

These all sound great to me, especially the lobster and whoopie pies.
