Short notice, I know. My husband and I are taking motorcycles to Portland on August 15 for 3 couples. We are going to take off on our own, in a car...........for the first time in Maine. We have 10 days!! Where do we go? We would like to stay in one place for at least 4-5 days and drive around from there........It looks like there is so much to do and see, it is overwheliming!! I am not sure where to start. Someone said we must see Bar Harbor? Could someone direct us? We have a time share plan, but none of them are available Please advise...Thank you so much.

Moody's isn't that great anymore, and there's usually a long line during the summer. I wouldn't bother going there. Try the Waterworks in downtown Rockland for lunch. The Brass Compass has excellent breakfasts.
