When we moved into our home, a barn cat was in residence, so we continued to feed it. Well, today we noticed 2 small kittens (pure black)-our "boy" barn cat was NOT! We called around at the only 2 no kill shelters (cherryfield and houlton) and they are not taking kittens. Any advice? We have three feline boys who are like children to us, 2 weenie dogs, and 2 other cats we care for-so we are full up! Any suggestions welcome-(only no kill alternatives will even be entertained!) Help : )

Or see if the vet can help you place them, woudl get them vacc'd and spayed/neutered (and the mom too) or you might have more kittens before you know it. The vet may let you put a sign up in his office (would also put signs up in other local vet offices, PetCo, PetsMart, supermarkets etc) and maybe put an ad on Craigslist as well, screen any prospective owners so you know they're going to good homes.

catch them, then put an ad in Uncle Henry's. People are always willing to take a free kitten.

I think that Caribou Pet rescue is a no-kill shelter, but that may be a long way to go also. A link to them with there number is Caribou Pet Rescue. Good luck with the kittens.

What are a couple more? I just found a kitten while we were walking in a cemetery. Now we have 6 cats. Oh well....more Fancy Feast, that's all. I think your kittens will be fine and so will your others...they will adjust and the new ones will soon be your babies, too.

I wish I'd read this before I saw you at lunch! Try a sign at the local stores, and if you get some cars on your road, I'd put one up at the end of the driveway too. I agree with Puntin, someone will take a free kitten
