Hey all,

I moved across from Scotland six years ago. I lived in Chicago for five years and then moved to Maine. In Chicago I knew a few Brit's and used to love meeting up for a few beers. I am in the Camden area, any other Brit's in the vicinity?.

Hi Fife! Welcome to the forum. I'm not British (actually I'm German), but I think another forum member, Forest Beekeeper, used to live in Scotland. Hope you're enjoying Maine! We're working very hard to finally make our move up there. Can't wait....

On another thread somebody's asking where are all the black people. Darned if I know. But if you just want to meet up for a few beers, there's plenty of folks here that would drop anything for a beer.

This is New England. It was settled by Brits. Plenty still around, just a few generations removed. All from the same stock, just a little more rebellious and revolutionary!

there's a bagpipes dealer in Brunswick, and at least one Brit in Wells.

Hi Nor'Eastah, beer is certainly a universal language that the Scots are fluent in.
Fortunata, maybe I need to finally learn the bagpipes. I am sure the neighbors will love that.

I have not seen very many Brits in this area.

100% British, but several generations removed. And I don't like beer. Sorry

I'm from Nuremberg. (We lived in the Lake Geneva area in SE Wisconsin before moving to NC. We used to go to Chicago several times a year. Love that city, at least for a visit!) Our plan is to move to the Bangor or Augusta area. We're also interested in Belfast and Rockland. How do you and your wife like Maine? Anything you love or dislike about living there? I always like to hear opinions!
(My hubby and I both enjoy beer! )
