Maine's not perfect, but after living in a lot of places in the US, I can give you a list of places that are a lot worse--a very LONG list. Every place has its pros and cons. We each have to look at those pros and cons and decide what's best for us personally. I loved the last town where we lived and I miss my friends. But I could not tolerate the temps anymore. Strangely enough, the only things that are different here is the weather and I can understand the language. And, believe it or not, there are a lot more conveniences here. It was a two hour drive from our previous home to the hospital, pharmacy, chiropractor, and a doctor who kept regular hours. It was even further to find a Wal Mart or any major shopping. Four hours to an airport. And they wonder why I laugh when they complain about how isolated they are here.
